2 Free Seamless Texture Makers

As a web developer, it is needed to create background texture for the website time to time. I usually use the pre-created texture available in the web. Today I m curious to find out how to create these seamless background texture for myself. I found some interesting free tool to do this.

1. Paint.Net with Seamless Texture Maker Effect Plugin

I am fan of Pant.Net, it's free and easy to use. Of course you can say "I am poor to buy Photoshop". I found that this plug in will do the seamless background image for you.

You can download the Seamless Texture Maker Effect Plugin and put in the effect folder of Paint.Net. When you open the Paint.Net, you will see the Seamless Texture Maker under Effects > Distort.

These are the available options you can tweak with plug in.

Choose the mode:

1. Mirror on the axis (reduce): the image is duplicated and flipped.
2. Copy and rotate (reduce): the image is duplicated and rotated.
3. Normal+Cut: The image is duplicate and paneled half size and then blended with the original.
4. Cut: The image is paneled half size. The center is going to the corners.

Choose the axis of symmetry:

1. You can decide to apply the effect on which proposed axis.

Flip the selection:

1. With the mirror this option allows you to place the reduced image in a different order.
2. With other modes, the duplicated image is flipped before the blending.

Transparent pixel:

1. transparent
2. replaced by Black color
3. replaced by White color
4. replaced by Primary color
5. replaced by Secondary color
6. as original image

Include transparent pixels:

1. The blend mode selected applies also to the alpha channel.

2. Use the Aviary.com plugin for Chrome
